Bristol job fair shows how call centres are big business

More and more businesses are outsourcing their incoming calls from customers to a dedicated telephone answering service, which is leading to unprecedented growth in the call centre industry.

This was demonstrated at a jobs fair held on Wednesday the 30th April in Bristol. This area has seen a significant increase in the number of businesses opening up, resulting in a rapid introduction and boom in the number of firms offering telephone answering services. This, in turn, is leading to more jobs opening up in the call centres across Bristol and the neighbouring areas.

The Contact Centre Jobs Fair took place at the Bristol Marriott Royal. Attendees were able to find out about call centre working opportunities, the salaries they could expect to earn, the hours they could be expected to work, the skills required to answer the calls, and the potential career prospects. Experts were on hand to help people craft professional CVs and give advice on interview techniques. More than 300 people were expected to take part in the event.

Katy Forsyth, the director of the group that organised the job fair, commented: “We organise this fair because we want to shout about the excellent jobs that are on offer in Bristol’s call centres, about the amazing brands that we have in this region and the exciting opportunities these centres have to offer. Bristol should be proud of this exciting, growing and successful business sector.”
